Dainty Scented Morsels

Writer: Letters HomeLetters Home

Dearest Sweetie;

See, no sad no more. Did you attend the cinema, “Wilson”? That my one and only was a very fine show. It had a line in it that reminded me a bit of your political views. T’was when Senator Henry Cabot Lodge (R) was entering the president’s study and four democrats

were leaving. It seems that one of the demo. Senators made the awed remark of, “Well--Senator Lodge.” After a pause in the doorway, a scathing look at the retreating demos., Senator Lodge retorted, “Yes, we Republicans still do business with the government,--occasionly.” As oft repeated by the brains from far-off places, a twice told joke isn’t so red-hot. This falls in that category, but still I think it’s funny.

Today I recieved a couple of dainty scented morsels from thee. These things my love, bring me closer to you than anything but shore-duty at Bremerton. God, what will-power I’ve got tonight. A no limit poker game going on, they need one more player, Ive got folding dough, and still here. If that isn’t love, I wish someone would show me a greater way. (In a quonset(?) hut)

Im sorry for being nosy about the birthday present, besides that I received three valentines today.

I love, someday I see
