Trying to Regain the Old Form

Writer: Letters HomeLetters Home

What Ho;

Don’t care a bit for Scotch, do you. Guess the taste must be garnered through continual absorbtion or all the autocracy are born to enjoy same. Your listed with the latter I presume, C.J. Hughes and such. May all our sons be the male image of their mother, our daughters

just a twenty year later replica. Speaking sons, reminds me of swimming. (the ‘s’ prefixes both). Every day, I’m out trying to regain the old form. A short warm up, a foo dives, three fast (?) lengths and back to the showers. The flexibile muscles remain, but the rhthm and kick aren’t so

red-hot. Also I don’t believe ‘dugans’ are the best exercise for ones respiratory system. Back to sons, they can’t smoke nor drink until they’re at least seven. Bad for the wind you know.

Have you figured (you and the pater) out the preferred climate to spend your reclining days in yet? (If that last word is a preposition reprimand me severly.) Reminds me of this chaplain striker in Wash. He was luke warm in the subjects with the exception of comp. In the old English class he was practically on rock bottom until one day, (all Hans Andersons novels ended this way) he met this beautiful young maiden. Now by some quirk of fate, this fair maid and sad sack fell madly in love. It so happened that she was an Eng prof, so they happily passed him thru that course. (He was troubled with general engineering when I left, can you be a bigamist in Seattle)

Did you ever try to scribe with a full fledged war conference going on in the vicinity. (Ike should have--Hell no, Patton--Well if they hadn’t put Spruance--Aw Halsey wasn’t even--Jeez, look what MacAurthur--He is not, Leahy has been for---No, thats not the move, if Hap Arnold would only--King and Nimitz always ag---He hasnt had Clark’s help for---Do you remember that bar--(a conferee reverting to type)--All I have to say, is if the Limeys dont---and on into the wee hours.

Always and always
