Dearest Sweetie:
Hello honey, almost back in the navy again. Stored the greens, bought dungarees, wear whites, of my aching heart but this seems good. Tis just temperary duty, but real barracks,
wonderful chow, gedunk joints, swimming, bowling, tennis my gawd I didn’t think such places existed. (Command Performance now on radio.) There is one slight thing wrong, old L.B. didn't come. After getting chief the first of next month, he probably wouldn't have been around anyhoo.

It's so nice tonight Sweetie, I sure wish we were wandering around somewhere. Wouldn’t care which direction, where we were, just to be holding both your hands. Is that hard to do whilst one is walking? Seems that this chap can remember your holding both mine while sitting. Being not so speedy upstairs, am wondering if that was for protection or luff. This fiscal year, we should save about half enough for a home, if everything works out. Did I tell you about my conversation with the division officer over 1st?
Wandered in with as much dignity as one musters up in that, “Sam you made the pants too long” suit. He said Howdy (now weve howdied, but we ain’t shook.) and immejutty commenced the business at hand. Now, natcherly he is a busy man, (I heard the man so I concentrate on the truth and he concentrates on desk full of papers. After a very few words, he said, “Well ah er oh Martin there are no openings for second.” Now I briefed the chap for a foo more moments about the Navy’s rate in 1942. (We squared that away, already second for foo years) He interrogated several more minutes and I answered and corrected his 2nd class preference. After the confab, as I was leaving, he glanced up for teenth time and told me that I’d be the first to get the word when 2nd openings came in.
I love and long, some day will be back
Always Love
